Byron has a magical undercurrent that invites curiosity and for many, leaves a lasting impression.
Come to surf epic breaks at dawn, paddle through hazy beach afternoons and sigh at the enchanting sunsets. Come to restore, refine your yoga practice, do a raw fast and hang with the fire-twirlers by the beach at sunset. Idle with an eclectic range of locals at the towns excellent restaurant tables, then if you’re not heading home for an early evening in preparation for your sunrise coastal walk, there is much to explore and enjoy after hours!
Domestic flights arrive at Ballina Airport, a 25 minute drive south of Byron Bay, or at Gold Coast Airport, a 45 minute drive north of Byron Bay. Many people choose to drive to Byron Bay: it’s about a nine hour drive north from Sydney or a two hour drive south from Brisbane.
